Sarma Vangala earned his Bachelor’s from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 1975 and was conferred his PhD in 1979 from England.

He was faculty at several leading institutions and did his sabbatical at the Sri Satya Sai Instute of Higher Learning in Physics.

Sarma has lectured worldwide on strategy, business transformation and mergers and acquisitions.

Sarma is a licensed professional engineer in the province of Ontario, Canada and is on the Professional Standards Committee of the regulatory engineering body, Professional Engineers of Ontario.
